Day 3, July 5th
Today we started work. We rubbed down church metalwork, painted the door and some railing, painted and put up wood cladding - working on the roof about 7 metres up! After dinner we went to play football with the locals.
Steve: Football was awesome!!
Rachel: Fab day yet again. Finally plucked up courage to have a shower, but I think I scared Tara with my screams. Ha ha. Looked forward to having more fun but not washing my hair
Hannah: Really sunny today but not too hot. I did lots of scraping ready for painting. Didn't get stomach ache after meal today which was great. Played football with locals and it was so much fun. God is great!
Lisa: The painting team were on it today! All team worked so well. Me, Katherine and others experienced the freezing cold shower experience. Football with the locals was loads of fun. Encouraged by Ioana's devotional about be ready for Satan's activity and standing firm in the strong name of Jesus.
Amy: First day of building work was really good as a result of Roger's amazing organising skills! The team worked really well together and it was a great evening having a 'friendly' game of football with the local lads. Continue to be blessed by the people's hospitality.
Tara: After a hard day's work we were promised a hot shower....it didn't happen! The screams heard from Rachel - even the town's people knew it!! We had a wonderful spaghetti bolognese prepared by Cornelia, Sami's wife. As a team we are having a great time and working well together! Comment from Simon F... my shower was hot, thanks Matt! Comment from Nick ... my shower was cold, fantastic...)
Katherine: My clothes, hair and skin are all painty but a very productive day J Food continues to be glorious!
Roger: What I wouldn't give for British scaffolding!!
Great to hear things are going so well. You are constantly in our thoughts and prayers back here. Love to all.
